Orange Crush? Whatever it may be, this is your place to say what you feel. You will be heard by many! We want to hear your rumble of what disturbs you. Could it be the building up on Tybee? Our infrastructure? Price of real-estate? Remain anonymous or put your name on the rant. We just want to hear you!! Please email to: squawks@tybeebreeze.com or send your rant to:

Too Bright . . .
Thank Goodness! We finally have a place to voice our complaints or comments (besides City Hall and City Council). This is a complaint about the overly bright and extra tall security lights that have been allowed on 18th Street, beginning at the Chus on Campbell and First and proceeding to Waves and beyond. Both areas have become entirely too bright at night. If something isn't done to restrict the lights at night, we are going to look up one night while driving down the main street and suddenly realize we can't see the stars and moon. All night lighting should be focused downward (like Tybee Market). Fortunately, the streetlights are wonderful, but these new ones do not compliment the Island.

Sorry Excuse
I'm a resident of Tybee. I have two members of my family who are in wheelchairs. I am amazed at the lack of consideration for the handicapped on our hospitable island. I brought my niece to visit a local establishment and we could not get in because there is an eight-inch curb at the entrance. I spoke to a person who was repairing something on the building and he said they couldn't fix the curb because it cost too much money. What a sorry excuse! You can purchase portable ramps for a reasonable price or build one for less money. I want everyone to know that a curb can keep a wheelchair-bound person from the simple joys of living. Also, it is the law that public places be handicapped accessible for all our citizens.
I have no tolerance for shop owners and city officials who defy the law and show indifference to some of our citizens. Try a day in a wheelchair and I guarantee you will see things differently!
